Lets explode some more myths about health and cancer!
MYTH No. 3: If I am sick or injured, I want to be in the hospital where I know I will be well taken care of.

We have wonderful facilities in most western
countries housing
the latest in medical equipment and staffed with highly dedicated professionals.
When we need to go to the hospital, we are certainly glad they are there. However, statistics show there is significant danger
associated with being a hospital patient.
In 1993, Ralph Nader's consumer watchdog organization
released its findings from a three year study of American hospitals.
They reported that an astounding 300,000 people die each year in
hospitals due to errors in diagnosis, treatment, medication, surgery, and other
forms of medical malpractice. The
Journal of the American Medical Association, in its July 2000 issue, confirmed
the figure at a conservative 250,000 deaths per year.
This means that in American hospitals, medical errors kill five times as
many people each year as there were American service personnel killed in the
entire Viet Nam war. And those
service people were dodging bullets! The
frightening thing is we are following very close behind the American example
here in the UK.
Even
when prescription drugs are properly administered, there are dangers involved,
whether or not you are in a hospital. Millions
of Americans have harmful reactions to prescription drugs every year, and an
estimated 100,000 of those reactions result in death.
Obviously, the best way to eliminate the dangers associated with hospitalisation and prescription drugs is to take better care of yourself. Stay healthy and avoid accidents, and you will not be needing either one.
MYTH No. 4: My doctor always knows what is best for me.

Paul
Winter, author of The Cancell Home Page, writes:
"It is not likely that any doctor knowingly suppresses a cancer
cure to protect his business or career. But
every doctor has his or her own ideas about the best treatment based on what
they have learned. The
pharmaceutical companies however have an extremely strong influence over what
medical doctors are taught. Doctors
are too busy to dig into the statistics of cancer treatments, so they assume
that what they were taught in school or what is demonstrated in the pages of
briefing journals is the best treatment. They
cannot afford to suspect that these treatments are only best for the
pharmaceutical companies that influence their institutions of higher
learning."
Dr.
John Diamond and Dr. Lee Cowden, in their book titled Alternative Medicine: The
Definitive Guide to Cancer, give this scathing indictment of the cancer
industry: "To the cancer
establishment, a cancer patient is a profit centre.
The actual clinical and scientific evidence does not support the claims
of the cancer industry. Conventional
cancer treatments are in place as the law of the land not because they heal the
best, but because they pay the best.
Decades of the politics-of-cancer-as-usual have kept you from knowing
this, and will continue to do so unless you wake up to their reality."
Why is it that the scandals concerning cancer treatment remain muted? Mostly because doctors have not yet fully realized the fraudulent nature of the cancer industry and the greed which drives it. Paul Winter explains: "Even if you have the best doctors, their information about alternative cancer treatments is probably incorrect. Doctors are so busy that they must rely on the summaries of medical research or testing. These summaries are usually prepared by institutions that oppose alternative treatments. If you carefully research other alternative cancer treatments, you will find the same kind of disinformation.
