#4 Network Marketing on the Internet Welcome back <%First_Name%>,
As with any business the more you advertise it the more people become aware of it. This is why most conventional business' rely on media advertising to interest people in their products or services in the first place and will undertake expensive and ongoing advertising campaigns. Just to build awareness! Many of the well established small business' don't need to rely on advertising because "word of mouth" from happy and satisfied customers has built up an enviable reputation which ensures they have an ongoing clientele without any great need for expensive advertising campaigns. Word of mouth advertising is wonderful for business' operating on a local basis and is the most valuable form of advertising they could possibly have. Not only is it free but it is the best! Now these personal recommendations are exactly what we want to tap with our own individual businesses within Organic Natural Enterprize not only on a local basis but worldwide via the Internet. But how do we do it? Well here are some more ideas for you to consider. Once again the google search engine is pivotal in this exercise for you. Organic Links Go to your google toolbar - What? - You haven't installed the google tool bar yet? If you haven't got the tool bar then get it now at www.google.com - Okay you have the tool bar. Insert "organic links" into the box and have a look at what comes up. WOW! Once again google has found every site with the words "organic" and "links" and there are only 1.64m of them! "Hmmmm - should keep me busy for a while sorting through this lot." Rather obviously there are an awful lot of sites in this list which may not be relevant for what we are seeking. So refine your search by using inverted commas so the exact phrase "organic links" is found. Crikey! That has narrowed the field down somewhat - just 3,000 odd sites left. So this is where you can start posting links back to your www.username.mionegroup.com site or preferably to your own domain name which redirects to your Organic Natural Enterprize website or by asking people to contact you by email. You will find most of these sites are specifically for people like you to post links on - directing surfers to other organic sites - or to place classified advertisements for products and services. It really doesn't matter where the sites are ranked for the above term as to where you start. Most surfers find these organic sites on a local search basis looking for specific things. For instance someone may want to buy organic cotton in California so they key those words into the search engine and they locate all the organic sites in California which may sell what they want. Try it and you will find a list of all the sites in California which have those words contained in the site. Then they refine their search to a specific area or town and specific product. So the point I am making here is - a small local site specific to an area may be a very good site to list your link on! It may well be the #1 ranking site for their town or locality and have literally hundreds of local people visit it. Try it and see. Lets see what's around in Devon UK - a specific small town, let's say Holsworthy population about 10,000. I am keying "organic vegetables Holsworthy" (without the inverted commas) into google - low and behold there are over 100 sites listed! Every single one of these sites would be worth investigating to see if you may be able to either post a link or contact the owner of the site to see if they would like to handle another Certified Organic product line or use the products themselves. Are you starting see the enormous potential to spread your business out through these people who are already convinced of the benefits of Organic Products? These are people you don't need to sell to! They WANT TO BUY 100% synthetic chemical free products! So do the above exercise for your own specific area and start spreading your business into the local community first and foremost! If you don't start close to home someone else will beat you to it. Other Avenues Now it doesn't stop at simply posting a link of course. You should be able to obtain the site owners name and address and email and phone number. This opens up several ways to contact them. By email (least effective) - by postal mail with a good letter and product brochures (more effective) - by telephone and explaining who you are and what your products are and setting up an appointment to see the owner (most effective) - calling in person without an appointment (not recommended). If you approach this systematically in your own area you will set the foundation for a wonderful business based on the Internet but with a local team. Now back to the links. When posting a link you need action words in the headline to grab attention. Fortunately we have some good words we can use. Consider these words:
Get the idea. There are many ways you can mix and match action words to grab attention and create an eye catching headline for your link. The action words in capitals catches the readers eye, (use capitals for the action words only) which causes them to read the headline completely. This in turn arouses their curiosity to find out more and to click on the link to read what you have written. The all important part of course is to get the surfer to take the initial action to click on the link. Keep it Brief You don't want to blow them away with a huge block of solid writing. People on the Internet scan things quickly and don't have the time to read screeds of information unless they are really interested. Your ad is there simply to give them sufficient information for them to want to know more. The ultimate aim of this is to get the person to your website or for them to email direct to you. Ideally they should email you, then this way you capture their email address and name and you can send one of the PDF attachments from the ONE GRP website to them. Always ask permission from people before sending large attachments. They will appreciate your courtesy and this is the first part of building up rapport with them. (Will go into this more in email marketing soon.) The Wording in the Advertisement Now your ad must be brief and to the point but sufficiently long to give enough information to really arouse their interest. Good words to use in the ad are YOU and YOUR. You need to think of how the reader is going to respond and how they can get a benefit from what you have. So if the advertisement addresses this basic premise, then you are much more likely to get a result. Consider this:
If there is provision for a link then you can put your Organic Natural Enterprize website on there too. However, bear in mind that unless the person going to your website is able to sign up there and then - you may lose them as you will never know who it was. Once they click off it, they will probably never see your site again and you have lost them forever. So I do suggest that you ask people to get back to you for more information by sending you an email. If you wanted to, you could even set up an autoresponder to send the information to them automatically. Then that's another story which is for the more advanced marketers. We'll be coming to that once we get past the basics of contacting people. There are two main considerations when you are placing the links on an Organic site.
Sometimes potential customers are put off if they think that somehow or another they may be letting themselves in for some sort of pyramid scam or something. You know how people think! "Uh Oh! Not another one of these Internet scams! I'll keep well clear of that!" So you have to think carefully about the type of person who is going to read your link. By all means push the business opportunity if you feel business minded people will be visiting the site. You may want to add a line to arouse the interest of people wanting to handle Certified Organic Cosmetics in their own existing business. Simply tack on a sentence: 40% business discount for retailers. Enquiries welcome Marketing opportunity 40% discount. Retailers wanted all areas. Try to keep the networking part out of the ad as many people who have no idea of what network marketing is all about dismiss it as pyramid selling - which of course it is not! However many business people will see the potential to sell the product and make a respectable profit of 40%. The all important thing is to get their interest in the first place and then once you have dialogue between you, bring up the advantages of building an online business. This is networking! Once you have contact and a bit of rapport built up - then you are in a position to build upon it. Classified Advertising Classified advertising on the Internet can be effective if you find the right place to advertise. Again use google to start your search. You want free places to advertise so try "free classified ads" Okay I just did and there were 1.8m sites to look at. Well your guess is as good as mine for this as to where you start. My suggestion would be to regionalise your search or type in the town where you live to see what sites are servicing the local area. Once again these sites are often frequently visited by hundreds or perhaps thousands of people looking for bargains close to where they live. So this could open up some opportunities here for you to reach out very simply and effectively to a market you would otherwise not be able to penetrate easily. Use similar headlines to catch attention as outlined above for the links. Concentrate the ads on finding people who would like to become customers and keep the business aspect out of it. Every preferred customer/affiliate that signs up through your website earns you 20 to 30% every time they order. So the more ads you can get out there the more likely you are to find the people who want 100% synthetic chemical free products. Tip: Before starting an advertising campaign on the Internet try to find sites involved in health that will allow free ads to placed. This is targeting your audience a bit more than just simply placing ads on random sites. Tip: It is a good idea to set up a throw away email address before you start placing ads on free classified websites. Some of the sites illegally sell your email address to spammers and you may end up with large numbers of unwanted emails in your inbox. So if you have an email address purposely set up to use on the site when you join, it is not that crucial if it is spammed and you have to drop it sometime in the future. Try to keep your main email address away from the spammers and don't use it anywhere on the Internet if you want to be free of spam. Hot Mail and Yahoo are just two places you can get free web based email addresses. Tip: If you have your own domain name and set up web hosting with a good service like www.compila.com you would be able to set what is called a catch all email address. This would mean that as you register your email address on the various sites you could actually call your self the name of the website in your email. For instance if wanted to place an add on a site called adlandpro.com I would call myself adlandpro@hallgold.com Then if your email address was sold on to spammers you know exactly who sold it because you have their name as the first part of your own email address. This technique works three ways to stop people spamming your email address. First the website owner will extremely cautious about selling your email address when he sees that it contains the name of his website. Secondly if he is foolish enough to pass your email on to spammers then you will know who has done it and you can lodge an official complaint against him if you want to make life difficult. Thirdly if you just want to stop the spam you can go into the back office of your website and send all mail addressed to email you are getting spammed on into a black hole where it never comes out of to annoy you! Tip: Make sure you track the websites you place your ads on. You may come across a website which gives you excellent results while others are a complete and utter waste of time. Write down the address of the site and note what replies come in from where. Then you don't need to bother with the sites that don't give the results. When renewing your ads just go back to the sites that have worked for you. To track which ads are working you may want the respondent to quote a code in the subject line if the website doesn't have a an automated reply direct from the ad page itself. The method above whereby you use the name of the website as the first part of your email is also an excellent way to track what comes in from that site too. Tip: Oh and by the way. Another use for the google tool bar. You can use it to automatically fill in forms so it takes you a fraction of the time. Also it has a pop up ad stopper which prevents annoying pop ups slowing down the placing of ads. Google is pivotal to your marketing if you want to be successful. Next report I will explain how to turn spam email into an advantage for you with bounce back email marketing.
